Lina Johnson comes from a long line of jewelry enthusiasts. Lina was born in the small mining town of Allegheny California. Lina’s father worked as an underground gold miner and her mother was a jeweler who made jewelry from gold nuggets found in the local rivers and streams. Being born into this family business Lina has inherited a vast knowledge and a life long experience in the gold, diamond and gemstone business. It’s in her blood!

Lina now lives in Grass valley California but often returns to Allegheny to visit and to purchase gold nuggets or quartz and gold specimens from the local miners. Lina started her individual career in jewelry when she was seventeen years old running a local jewelry store for many years. Lina has also been involved in gem shows spanning the United States. Lina’s passion for jewelry has only grown through the years, and been a driving force in she and her close friend Penny launching their own business with all of the qualities they feel are of the utmost importance to making their friends and customers happy.

Penny Scott has been a local resident of the Grass Valley area since 1957. She has always had an eye for Sparklies. For the past 10 years Penny has been designing and creating her own line of custom made semi precious beaded jewelry. Through her 10-year friendship with Lina and her love of jewelry Penny came to be a part time employee of a local jewelry store, opening her eyes to the endless possibilities of the jewelry business. Penny is proud to be a part of this professional team and co-owner of “Pennys from Heaven”.

David Caldwell began his career in the art of custom designed jewelry and repair in 1973. David is a Master Jeweler who has vast experience designing and producing exquisite pieces of jewelry. David has the perfect balance of artist and technician who will take your ideas and dreams and turn them into a perfect creation just for you. Dave’s expert skills in jewelry repair will insure that your special piece of jewelry is as structurally sound and as beautiful as possible. Dave looks forward to working with you and helping you wear your dreams.

Dave Golby began his love affair with fine gems and finished jewelry in 1972. David became a licensed gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America in 1983, after which he owned his own store in Palm Springs for many years. David Golby was also the Head Gemologist for Francis Cline Jewelers located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA. David eventually moved to Grass Valley where he continued to pursue his career and raise a family. Included in his artistic abilities David is a painter and classical pianist. He is a true Gentleman and is eager to fulfill all of your appraisal needs.
